    Hi all,

Okay, it's getting near kidding time for me and I have a worming
question - should I worm the doe RIGHT after she kids (the same day)?
I will probably use Ivermec - how long after the first time I worm
her after she kids do I do it again (10 days?)?

    Thanks!

In my herd, I would worm within a day or two of kidding...yes, 10 days later for sure and then 10 days later after that. Most parasites have an 18 to 21 day life cycle. Worming meds ONLY kill adults. All the eggs that leaves in the goat will hatch. In ten days you get the new hatches before they can lay more eggs, and in the second 10 day dose you hit the rest of the original eggs that have hatched. When people report that a med doesn't work on worms anymore, it may only be that the heavy egg load has hatched and has not been addressed.
