    I noticed that the sulfa I ordered was Sulmet "Sodium Sulfamethazine" I thought I was ordering Sulfadimethoxine, but I was just paying attention to the 12.5% and thought they where the same thing. Is there a diffrent dosage? Is it safe for goats for Prevention or treatment of Cocci?

    Dusty, this is the doses for Sul-Met. The large doses is why we rarely use them.

    Sul-Met is 12.5% = 125mg per cc.
    Recommended dose for G O A T S for coccidia is :
    Pugh (unless someone can find another recommendation on the mg/kg for Dogs.)
    Quote:
    Sulfamethazine 119 to 238 mg/kg per head/day

    Prevention=119mg/kg =12.5# k i d gets 5.1cc
    Treatment=238mg/kg= 12.5# k i d gets 10.2cc
    kg is 2.2#'s of bodyweight.

    What is the trick to get them to swallow? I tried holding their head back and using a drenching syringe to get it back in their throat, but they tried to gag so I put just a little at a time in the back of their mouth and they would just spit it out.
