Hi all, we have two underage does born this spring, and I am worried our unrelated buck has bred them, even though we tried our best to keep them separated in paddocks on opposite sides of the property.
If a doe gets bred, and we administer lute, will the goat keep growing to full size? Or will it cause the doe to stop growing forever? One is a Saanen and the other came from a wild goat population. I want them to grow to full size before we have them run with a buck at all. If it would save their lives and allow them to grow to full size, I would gladly administer lute.
I don’t know much abt this so don’t take me for word... but I am thinking that it would not stunt their growth because if you would use lute they would not be pregnant anymore... we got a doe from another farm and she had got bred to early and so that stunted her growth.. but they didn’t giver her lute.. do you know when the buck got in their or like how long has it been since he got in there? And also have you checked their back ends? That could tell you a lot too if it was just recently..
So like if ur doe gets pregnant by accident and u don’t want them to be pregnant then you can give them this stuff called lute, so they will no longer be pregnant. But you have to give it to them in a certain amount of time after they been bred cuz then if their to far along in their pregnancy then it won’t work
