Hello, this is my first kidding season and I have a few questions. One of my FF's kidded 1/27 and passed her afterbirth well. However, still to this day, she is dripping blood. I think she's okay because even in humans we don't stop bleeding for several weeks after birthing. Can someone please easy my mind?

    Thanks,
    Trudy

It's normal for goats to have a bloody dischatge for a few weeks after kidding. I check to make sure there is no foul odor. If your doe is eating and behaving normally, I wouldn't worry.

Yep just like us. Also when jumping up and down off the milkstand it can dislodge clots. The whole "its only an emergency if it's bright red blood" isn't really true, it's soo much bright red blood it scares you...then it's off to the vet, not coming onto the forum :) Vicki
