I thought that all was required for a *B was the Dam to have a M* here is the info on my saanen bucks dam, why doesn't he merit a *B ?

In order for the buckling to get the *B both his dam and sire must be of advanced registry (AR). So his sire must be of either *B or +B. The other way is for the sire's dam to be a AR doe that qualifies for both milk and butterfat.

In the second option where the sire's dam is AR, the buckling dam must also be AR.

Sherrie same thing with Winn, his dam Genuine Winner is a *M. I had it explained to me, but honestly I have never really studied all that :) Embarassing but true. Vicki

Yep that does explain it. Just looking at the dam and sire's dam though, he looks like he has good bloodlines behind him.

Yep all his bloodlines five gens back are *M's and 90 + LA's and Ch's His doe kid was my Best appraised 07 kid! V Ec Ec Ec
I can't Wait to see his kids this season I'ld better get more than One doeling this time!
