Hi Everyone, I need to get some more fat in my goats diet (Doe's) at my feed store I can get a bag of rice bran pellets (not Cah balanced) for 9.99 or I can get the Max E Glo which is balanced Cah for $21.15. Is there a big difference between the two when it comes to feeding doe's, I wouldnt feed any of it to the wethers or bucks. Does anyone even use rice bran pellets? Thanks Melissa
I know that rice bran is pellitized for feeds, but I just fed mine powdered, I am on my last bag, it was what I fed to keep the fat up in the diet during the winter. I am not one to worry about the calcium to phos ratio in each and everything I give to my goats, since I feed so much alfalfa. So the balance thing wouldn't even be a consideration to me. Which one has the most fat? I know the rice bran here is 13/13/13 13 protein, 13 fat and 13 roughage. Pretty decent fat for $9. I wouldn't spend 3 times that much unless it was adding something else I needed to improve my oats. Vicki
