When my goat had her kids, both came out in the sac. Is this normal/doesn't really matter? If I had to go in and the kids are still in sacs, can you break them or do you try to feel what's going on through the sac? I know with people, it doesn't really matter if the baby is born in the sac or if it breaks first, but have learned NOT to assume that because one can, so can everything else. Sorry if it's a 'duh' kind of question, but if I never ask I'll never know. :biggrin

I always break sacs. If you have too many kids out on the ground in sacs that aren't broken, you are likely dealing with copper defficency. Vicki

Thanks all! Hmmm.... Copper deficiency, I've been working on that. I only have two does, and the other one hasn't popped yet, so is two for two too many? Does that phrase even make sense?

Well it's 50% of your herd so far...that is huge number! Teasing...but if your next doe has the same thing than yes it is problem in your 'herd' :) Vicki
