I am giving vitamin C and also calcium/magnesium/zink to Penni as she still has a little blood in her milk. She is much better and the milk looks white but I have a eye for it and can tell. After the milk sets in the frige for a dau or two there is a bright red ring in the bottom of the jar. I am starting to give her ground up vitamin pills. The C is 500MG and the other is a combo pill. I am sprinkling 1 tsp each on feed AM and PM. Just started today but it is supposed to stop the blood. We will see. She is increasing each day in milk so that is another reason I can't get the bleeding to stop. That udder is very high and tight and is still trying to stretch. I looks like you might get a cup or two of milk out of her but I am getting almost 4 lbs once a day now. Anyway....Molly is the old goat that blew her coat! I gave her the copper bolus and she is now getting some hair back. Do you think it would help her if I sprinkled some of those vitamins on her feed too? She is still skin and bones. I am sprinkling high fattening horse supliment on her grain now to try to get her to gain a little weight. She won't eat senior horse feed. I already tried that.
I am trying beet pulp on one of my skinny milkers, after finding a feed store that would order it. First couple of days was just a hand full twice a day. We're working up a bit from that now. I'm a firm believer in vitamins for people. Ought to help goats, too.
