    Stacy,

Most cows platforms are 48 inches wide and 8 foot from wall to gutter. That is enough room for a Holstien/Swiss/Shorthorn. I know some people have narrower stalls for Jerseys. But, the way the jerseys have grown in the last 5 years...it would be wise to have to much than not enough.

Be sure you teach your cow to potty before she goes in the milk room!

I am so used to tidy does. :D

If you are building a new milk room, make sure you put a drain in the floor with a cow going to be coming in there. That way you can hose down after her. :biggrin
