So, does anyone use PVC milk stands or headlocks? I am thinking about making our headlocks out of PVC pipe, but am wondering if it is strong enough and works well? Thanks!

I welded mine and really like it, however I do have friend who made his out of 1" pvc and plywood for a deck. I did not think it would work . . . but what do I know! He's a mechanical engineer.

It is not as sturdy as mine but it works really well for him.

Be aware, he is milking mini-manchas, however he assures me it will work for full sized goats as well.

    Good luck.

Well I was going off of this link kind of - http://www.maggidans.com/suitcase_stanchion.htm . They have one for standard sized dairy goats and one for minis. Their's will hold 200+ lbs. We are making a 6-goat stanchion, milking from the back, and the stand will probably be all metal, but I have been trying to find an easy/strong/cheap way for headlocks, and thought PVC might work.
