The only pasteurella vacc we were able to get is labled for cows, no mention of goats. It is for "Haemophilus Somnus, Mannheimia Haemolytica, Pasteurella Multocidia" Can this be used on thegoats?
You can get the MANNHEIMIAHAEMOLYTICA-PASTEURELLAMULTOCIDA BACTERIN here http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?PGGUID=2dae75b3-7a7e-4fd8-82f4-38d5a4b248db Jeffers has it too http://www.jefferslivestock.com/ssc/product.asp?CID=2&pf_id=0030740 You can use what you have it just hasn't been tested on goats and so you don't really know the effectiveness of it.
No, you want the one with goats on the label, jeffers carries it etc.. You don't want the girls lame from the shot for this trip. The cattle ones carrier just like with LA200 causes irritation so it's absorbed into the bloodstream subq. You don't want this carrier for goats, or you get from a little tenderness to simply down from pain. Also make sure the shots are over the ribs and not by the front leg. Vicki
The vaccine that Chris pointed you to is also a KILLED vaccine~ being recommened by "goat" vets~ and labled for cows, sheep & goats. Kaye
