I have my dairy goats (Saanens) on 5 acres of mixed pasture which is their primary feed and supplement with grain. Hay as well but more so in winter time. I've got a source for mixed nuts : peanuts, pecans, walnuts, cashews, sunflower, dried fruit . . . and was wondering if this would be a good supplement in similar quantities as grain. They're high producing milkers so the higher nutrition / calories, protein, seems like it would do good and help increase milk production, I would have to experiment with how much to give daily and not give more than necessary to hit their peak production but not make them fat. I suppose I'm just looking to hear opinions, if anyone has done this with their goats, any info as to perhaps why I shouldn't, etc..

Thanks.
