What is the youngest age (but still safe healthwise) I can breed my Nubian goat?

Hi! Your Nubian, if she is a normal sized Nubian, should be safe to breed around 8 months old. Some goat owners prefer to wait till they are at least a year so that they can mature more.

8 months is best but don't breed her until she is around 80 pounds.

Most place advise 1 year. I also have a Lamacha-Nubian crossbreed about 6 months old, she is huge (a really nice doe too). She looks big enough to breed right now.

That Lamacha-Nubian crossbreed looks like a Saanen. She is the back left

Right now I am wondering if my buck is gay. He is young Nubian, under a year old, and just doesn't seem that interested.

My other buck with the questionable blood line, is acting like a teenage boy when he sees the girls just beyond his fence....
Probably not. Goats are not usually homosexual, but PANsexual. He may just be a late bloomer. Judge him this fall in rut. Most would breed a fence post if it held still long enough.
