    Hello everyone!
My name is Anna and I'm relatively new to goats (within the past couple of months). Over the past few months I have done so much reading and learning not only here, but in books and other online forums/sites as well. I feel like I've been inundated with information and after spending countless hours (days...weeks...months) reading about everything I can think of, I STILL feel like I have no idea what to do. Who knew it would all be so overwhelming! Thank you to everyone who has so generously shared information.

I have three young goats - all does. Betty is a Pygmy, and was born early February 2008 (she was a gift, and not purchased from a breeder). I also have two young Nigerian Dwarf girls, born late February 2008. They were purchased from a ND breeder in the area.

Betty (the pygmy) has been a dream goat. She was insanely afraid of people when we first got her about 6 weeks ago. Now, she's a lap goat.

The two Nigerian girls are as sweet as can be. They both were quite wormy when I brought them home so having to manage that so soon (I've owned them a couple of weeks) has been a learning process. I live in central Texas (Vicki, you've given me advice on worming - thank you!), and trying to get the worming and prevention program off on the right foot has been a learning experience, that's for sure.

Anyway, I just thought I'd drop a note and say hello, and THANK YOU!

    Thanks!
    -Anna.

Welcome Anna. You will love this forum. I have been doing goats for 7 years and still feel like a beginner, but please don't let that scare you off. There is a tremendous amount of insight on this forum and everyone is very helpful. Goats are like potato chips - you can't have just one! :D
