My husband brought this doeling home yesterday and she did not look well kept. She was very dirty. She is in milk. This morning when I went to milk her I took a closer look at her I noticed her face didn’t look great. She is a Nigerian dwarf. What do you think the balding is on her face? How does she look in general? What are your thoughts? Where should I start with getting her to optimal health? She is 5 years old

She is NOT an okay weight, she is really skinny. Slowly work her food up. She should be fed twice a day. Don't increase her food too fast or she could get boating and diarrhea. Rub some Nue-Stock on her head, most of the balding is liking from fighting with other goats. Either way, it will help. Check her for lice, if she has any dust her with a 50/50 diatomaceous earth and sulfur mix. Wear a respirator and put a towel on her head, you don't want to breathe it in. If there are still lice two weeks later dust again. Her hooves need to be trimmed really badly! If she has hoove rot you will need to cut it out. She looks like she is copper deficient. I would copper bolus her. Make sure you are offering her loose GOAT mineral. Multi-species mineral even sheep mineral doesn't work. Mineral blocks don't work either.
