There will be a meeting for the East Texas Dairy Goat Club on August 31 at 1:00 pm at the China Café in Tyler, TX. All are welcome.
Getting shows started in that part of Texas is one of the goals of the club. It is my understanding that there was a very active group of folks who did shows in East Texas in the '70s and '80s. Let's all work to make it happen again.
I'm outside of West Monroe, La... But East Texas is not really that far of a drive... I think the ideal of shows within easy driving distance is exciting.
East Texas Goat Raisers Association and before that there was Cream of the Crop Caprine Club. They had shows in Athens and then in Lufkin up until the mid-2000s when they were taken over by people who owned meat goats. Best of luck to you getting one started back up again. I'd love to see some more spring dairy goat shows in Texas!
