Hi :biggrin We picked up our new ram on Saturday-he's huge, has a set of horns to frighten just about anyone and has never seen a human in his life...........the joy! :crazy We've called him Amun, he went in with the Girls today, lets just say I'm hoping he doesn't demolish me or my yards at milking this evening :sigh Vanessa
He looks great. Almost like our hair sheep ram we had a couple years ago... without the huge rack of horns on him. Better watch out, there are hunters who would love a rack like that over their fire place. I know one breeder around here keeps wethers and sells them for sport... Kind of cruel in my book to let someone shoot a tame animal, even if they are of Spanish blood.
He is very handsome, noble like but wow what a set of horns. No thank you... Be very careful with him. Autumn
You are a brave woman! He is very stunning - how does one earn respect and trust from an animal like that? Do you follow some sort of protocol. Like, leave him alone for one week, the next week, feed him treats? Just curious...
Ron Keener posted a pick of a Saanen buck with a full set of horns like that on NT. Very stunning! I'm thinking of what teachers do to desk legs in their classrooms to keep the floor wax intact--tennis balls cut and slapped on the bottoms of the legs. He probably wouldn't stand for tennis balls attached to the end of those horns....
