    Hi all,

I have run out of Palm oil and really don't want to purchase any more right now. But I need to make soap so how do you all think a sunflower oil and coconut oil soap would be, should i use more coconut than sunflower or the other way around. I also have some shea butter if needed, what is the absolute percentage of shea butter in a batch of soap I make 4lb batches and 12 lb batches right now.

    Thanks
    Autumn

    Autumn,
A coconut, sunflower, and shea butter soap recipe is very nice.. I would use no more than 15 percent shea, and you also want to keep the coconut under 30 percent.. too much and it dries skin on some people.. NOt all tho..
I don't know what soap calculator you use, but soap cal has a great feature in which you can set the water percentage yourself and do a discount.. Keep in mind if you are not familiar with the fragrance that you will be using a water dis can make your soap seize.. I discount up to 40 percent of the water on fragances that I am familiar with..
