She had two does. That make three does kidded and 5 does.

First only weighed 4 1/2 lbs and is blind.
    Second weighed almost 6 lbs.

Both very week and not nursing or standing.

I got the bigger one to nurse a bottle and get some colostrum but the little one wouldnt even try to suck. I didn't know how to tube so I wrapped it in a towel and sent Milt to the vet with her.
They tubed her and sent the tube and instructions with Milt.
The bigger doeling started getting very week and I could not get it to suck a bottle anymore so I tubed it too and gave bo-se and E to both.
The bigger one ois with Molly but If she doesn't get up and nurse I am afraid Molly will step on her and kill her.

I am tired and don't know what else to do.

Molly has had pedialite and gater aid and 30 cc CMPK.
I went in and checked for more because even though she passed two placientas she is still pawing and pushing.
I found nothing in there and I went in deep so now I need to start her on Antibiotics.

Well congratulations on the twin doelings. Might have to keep them babies in the house and tube them every few hours until they get some strength. Are you up for 2 bottle fed little darlins to tend to? I would keep giving Molly the CMPK this evening and in the morning and I wouldn't milk her out all the way. I'd let her have all the alfalfa pellet she wants and hay also and then her grain twice a day.

I'd bring both babies inside. Get like a Rubbermaid box, put a heating pad in the bottom, a thick layer of old towels, tuck in the kids and put another warm towel on top. Let them rest and warm up now that they have food in their tummies they can go 4 hours or so . Once they are really warm then try again, tube if necessary. Hope they make it!

I am guessing I am going to loose the little blind one.
She is having breathing problems. They didn't get the tube in the right place the first time and this little one does not sneeze.
I suctioned milk from her throat and nose but she wheezes every once in a while.
    Time will tell I guess.
She is standing now. I have not seen her pee yet.

How much colostrum should I be feeding them with the tube?

    How often.

The Vet said 20 CC every two hours. Is that right?

  7. Re: Molly Kidded this morning but....

I would tube at least 60 cc.....20 cc is less than an ounce. Maybe 60-90 for the wee girl and 120 for the larger doe. I'd do it evey 4 hours ad keep them very warm between.
Yes Pennington is doing great! You should see his mama, she is the biggest-bellied goat we have ever had. Due the 31st and loos like 6 :)

Well, the little one is fed 60 CCs and the bigger one is still not walknig but is standing and I hold her up to Mom and she nurses fine so I think she will be OK.
She is getting stronger fast now that she is nursing. I hop she will be able to go get food on her own before night or I will have to bring her in a bottle feed her through the night. I think she will be strong enough by then though.

I know I need to put the tiny one down. I can't. Thats just how it is.
I don't need a blind goat. No one will buy a blind goat.
Such is life. I doubt she will make it anyway. It is just so sad.

Her eyelids are grown closed or not developed enough to open.

There is just a tiny slit in each eye and all you see when you look in there is white.
I keep trying to work them open. I don't want to tear them.

    Christine,
the little one did have teeth just poking through but the bigger one does not. That is another reason I think they might have been premies.

I don't know what happened to that last picture but you can see it on the thread titled
How do I put her down.

Little Stormy is still having trouble nursing but after being with Mom all night and having an empty tummyI tried to get her to nurse Mom and she would not so I tried to bottle feed her and she would have none of it.

I finally gave up and took her back to Mom and this is what happened.
I guess she did not want to take a chance that I would try to stick that nanst bottle in her mouth again.

Her teeth have erupted now too.

Aparently Molly did not settle when bred in the buck pen but when we had bred all the does we let him out to run with them just so he would catch any that missed. That would make the kids about 8 days early.
Does that sound right? The tiny one had teeth and the not quite 6 pounder had no teeth yesterday but does today.
