What is the concensus on millet hay?
Have you looked online for nutrient content? I think most people don't feed it because it is a little rare. I did have a friend that got some last winter for her horses because that was all she could get and they did okay on it...course, she wasn't feeding them for milk production.
No, I took the easy way out....LOL..and posted here first. A friend just bought a bunch and I had never heard of it...he has had it about a week and said his does don't seem to like it, and a couple have scours now....so I told him I would post and hear what you all may know about it. I just did a little bit of searching on it and found info on millet grains, but not alot on the hay....it seems to be low in both protein and calcium from what I have read so far.
right if you do a search it says it will cause diarreah in some cases. It also is not as nutritious as most grass hays but if also feeding alfalfa pellets this wouldn't be a big concern for me.
