I have seen it before, a chart with all the nutritional values of feeds. You type in what you have and it tells you how much to feed to get the right fat, protein, etc. Or can any one give me a formula to calculate my own. For instance ,I feed 4 parts @10% 1 part@5% 1/5 part@45% What is my end result of a% A formula I could use to figure fat, protein or anything else.
I have a formula in Making Money With Goats, if you have that, but here's how you do it. Figure how many equal parts there are in the whole thing. the 1/5th part fouls it up a bit, so you have to convert everything to fifths. 4 parts at 10% is actual 20 parts in the new formula. 1 part at 5% is actually 5 parts the 1/5th part is 1 part 20 X .10 = 20 5 X .05 = .25 1 X .45 = .45 Add the right column and divide by total parts 20 + .25 + .45 = 20.7 divided by 26 parts = .79 pretty low protein if that's the percentages you gave...less than 8% Best wishes, Ellie
Thanks So much. I have even asked on a math geek forum and got no response. Now I can increase and decrease as needed. Yes I thought it was a bit low.
