Okay, so I made liquid soap and it has a whiteish oily scum on the top of it. I've tried skimming it off to no avail. I used coconut oil and high oleic sunflower oil. Should I not have used the high oleic sunflower oil?? I used regular sunflower oil before with no problem. I have it cooking some more right now and have added a little borax to it. Waiting to see what happens. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Julie

You have not achieved complete saponification. Cook it longer. I learned from Barbara to cook it for three days, perfect every time :)

Christy, This has already been diluted, but I'm cooking it more. Will it be okay or should I just ditch this batch. Thanks, Julie

Just keep on cooking it, I cook for a full three days and it is perfect every time, with it already diluted it will take a long time, but don't throw it out, there is nothing wrong with it and you can use it at home for yourself.. Makes great soap in foamy bottles..
