If You Were Starting Over...

    Nistha, I'm sorry you have felt judged. Hope you still feel free to ask questions and share your experiences.

    Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see any judging.

    I likely would not start over and have no plans to but if I did:

    I would:
    Choose a herd that raised how I was looking to raise them myself.

    Not necessarily go on popular herd names in a pedigree or even registered.

    OK if they are registered but unregistered goats can milk and be raised for meat just as efficient as registered. Just depends on what your goal is.

    Maybe not even purebred. More important is a healthy animal.

    I would likely buy two mature does to start with to not have to wait 2 years for your first milk when starting out with kids.

    This would be some of my criteria. I would not be looking to sell registered breeding stock though, or unregistered.
