I went over to my friend's place yesterday and her La Boer had just given birth to twins. A buck and a doe. Mom is red and has a nice udder. The kids are white with red heads, and, thank God, small ears. It was only 6 degrees when they were born. so it's good to have small ears. The first was a buck and had three legs out when my friend found her. My friend is an old pro at pulling kids, so got the baby straightened out. The doeling presented normally. By the time I arrived, the kids were born and the doeling was in the heated well house being dried off. We cordonned off part of the goat shed and put up a heat lamp. We got both kids to nurse, so hopefully, they will endure this cold weather. It was nice being able to be with babies, but I'm glad I bred mine to kid when it's warmer. We still have 6 weeks to go here.
