Has anyone heard of this kind of hay? I have looked it up and it is in the legume family but doesnt give any other info like protein % or calcium % but does say it compares to alfalfa. Alot of farmers have been selling it and I was wondering if it was worth a try. It is only a spring crop so when it is baled at first cutting that is it. I found some that is 100% hop clover for $4.00 a bale and sure hate to buy it and it not be worth anything. I have that clover in my field and the goats do seem to love it when it starts to dry up. Anyone know anything about this at all?

I LOVE that type of hay! I will buy any 1st cutting hay I can find if it has Hop clover in it. The goats LOVE it and will pick through the less than desireable stuff in 1st cutting to get the Hop clover. Just make sure that it's cured as it will mold FAST if put up with too much moister.
