Heat this time of the year?

    I thought that there couldn't be heats by this time of the year, especially in Northeren climates, but I have one I think is in heat. She won't be a year till April so hasn't been bred and I thought I would have to wait till fall. Are some breeds more capable of year round than others? She's Alpine BTW.

    We are in Indiana and had a doe in heat yesterday. She got into the buck pen so who in the world knows who that dad to the kids would be. She was even in with a buck of her own. Guess he wasn't cute enough for her.
