Remember this thread?? https://dairygoatinfo.com/index.php?topic=1812.0 After it was obvious she was not going to kid to the first buck, I started worrying about if she would do ok kidding. For the last month she has been prolapsing every time she laid down. Lots of red stuff sticking out that shouldn't have been! I've never seen that and was afraid it might get in the way when she went into labour. Well........Escapade went 151 days, which is unheard of in my Lamanchas. She was most certainly bred to the proper buck(the lute worked just fine!!). She kidded this morning with huge triplets. 1 big white buck, then two big cream/tan does. I think maybe shew knew about her prolapsing when she laid down, because she didn't lay down once during the labour. :lol She did great and gave me almost 3/4 gallon of colostrum plus what I left for her boy to eat. What a relief! Now....which doeling to keep.......maybe I'll keep both! :rofl
congrats... glad everything went well. and DOES!!! to choose from (after last week, I vote you should keep them BOTH!) I can't believe she last to 151.. shoot, she looked ready to pop, back when we were over there!. again, congrats susie, mo ozarks
:biggrin I just love it when these blasted goats "go by the book"...which is seldom! I'm glad you got the does...I'd hate to know you did all that worrying for bucks. Kaye
:woohoo That is great and congratulations on the does. I am keeping both of my does out of the triplets that Syrah gave me.
Thanks guys!! Here is Escapade three weeks ago. Here are her doelings today. Her boy is with her in the barn and is just a wee bit bigger than the girls. Just goes to show that it doesn't pay to worry...... :lol
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got some doelings from Emily last year and they are just doing WONDERFULLY!!!!!!!!!!!
