OK, in the past I've sent my fecals in to be checked, but since i have this nice microscope, I figure I ought to learn to do it on my own . About 100 years ago, I took parasitology in school so have some vague memories, but of course i had no goats then so only paid attention to dog stuff . I have the microscope, have slides & cover slips, but have seen mention of McMaster chamber slides- what's the difference? Is it that much better? Is there a good site with pictures of worm eggs common to goats that I could print out to have to refer to? How often do y'all run fecals? I have been sending them in a few times a year
Here's you one site.... http://www.apacapacas.com/parasites/ I'll not comment on the McMaster slides because I don't use them. Good Hunting, WHIM
This is a great site for instructions on how to use the McMaster slides: http://www2.luresext.edu/goats/library/fec.html Sara
WE also have the egg pictures here in Goat 101 that Sue Reith gave us. https://dairygoatinfo.com/index.php/topic,64.0.html
