Forgive me if this is a stupid question. The other thread on the deerworm doe got me to thinking..... I recently treated one of my does for deerworm. She did not go down, but I was able to recognize it (thanks Vicki) early enough and treat before she got bad. Most of the neurological damage seems to be gone. My question- since I am in an area prone to deerworm infestation, is there anything I can do for prevention, so that I do not risk my other does becoming infected? Everyone was wormed post-kidding with Quest; I randomly fecal and plan on worming pre-breeding. Should i treat with Ivermectin on a semi-regular basis?
I've added a twice a year worming with Ivomec to my worming regimen. Spring and fall. One HUGE buck with it is enough! I brought him from the ground up to servicing does this past fall. GREAT BIG THANKS TO VICKI for handling that major panic episode. :biggrin Kaye
