  1. I see Columbus Foods has cosmetic grade oils. What is the difference? And are they better for soaps & lotions? THANKS!

I would not use cosmetic grade oils for soap. I cannot say if they are any better for soap but for the money ...no.
Label appeal but that would be a pricey bar of soap, in order to make money on that same bar that can be made with soaping or cooking oils.

I have not made lotion, so I can't help you with that part of the question.

I not sure of the difference but it is probably the grade of oils is higher and more pure.

I use comestic grade for lotions not for soap unless I just happen to put a bit in for lable appeal.

    This from bathbodysupply.com:
From another site a while back I read that cosmetic grade oils might only be 60% of the named oil, and have other oils blended in but match the correct SAP for that oil. Call Columbus Foods & ask? I have used the cosmetic grade avocado & really liked it. Good label appeal, but not too expensive.

  7. Thanks every one for your input. Michelle I will call and ask. Thanks!!
