Okay, I don't know anything about copper. Just know goats need it and can have more than sheep. I have never given my girls copper, don't know how to, and don't know if they need it. In my searching around, ran across this article. If you have time, please go there and read and tell me what you think? http://www.u-sayranch.com/goats/coppersulfate.html Thanks Sheryl
In all honesty...I don't want to dose my goats with copper sulfate. http://www.saanendoah.com/copper1.html Read the above studies and especially the "HOW THE COPPER BOLUSES WORK ". I think this will cover a lot more than the site you gave. Kaye
That same u-say ranch site has a page on bolusing - and that is actually how they do it. ...so they must not feel great about the sulfate either. That site is how we learned to make up the boluses - very good instructions, if you need them.
here is the bolus article http://www.u-sayranch.com/goats/copper.html also remember that the sulfate article is by Irene Ramsey who lives in NZ totally different than us here in the states.
