Does being post-legged make a goat roll back onto their heels? Or how does being posty affect hoof wear?
I have a couple of goats that have real short heels and tend to roll back onto them and their toes want to grow out long. - is that because of the post-leggedness a selenium issue or ?? ( maybe none of the above?)

I wouldn't think it would have to do with selenium, probably that they have bad feet genetically. I have seen post legged does with good hooves and bad hooves on good legs so I don't know how much relation there is.

    Susie,
Were the does posty before they started rocking back on their heels? The does that I have seen do this need frequent trimming of the toes and little trimming on the heels, although you do need to make sure the heels are wearing right and not rolling. Have you been trimming the heels?

Just a little trimming of the heels-- mostly the toes-- (hooves are better now with more frequent trimmings than they used to be)
