Can I give Pirsue to dry treat a doe for mastitis? (who is bred)

    Dry cow treatments are for prevention...in fact I will be so bold as to say any infusion given on it's own to a goat without systemic meds or meds added to them is not going to cure mastitis.

    If you know you dried up a doe with mastitis you need to give her systemic treatments along with the Pirsue. Pirsue alone is only going to keep numbers of bacteria down, not kill all the bacteria. Vicki

    I could be wrong on this....But my understanding was that Pirsue was for IN milk. I'll double check the label on a tube we have handy tomorrow.

    Excenel (hope i spelled that correctly) has no withdrawl time and we've had excellent results with it.

    You're correct in the Pirsue being for lactating...but, it's also very good about penetrating tissue for walled off staph. Reason it's labled for every 24hrs. instead of twice a day.

    Gent. added to Pirsue is a very good dry treatment. Both will penetrate walled off staph. ;)
