This morning I noticed that one of my doelings (11 months) had a bit of blood on her bottom, and a little bit of dried blood on her tail. I had previously thought that this doe was not pregnant, (I don't do bio-tracking yet) but now I am wondering if she had an abortion. Would there be any other cause for the blood? What is aboriton usually caused by besides a blow to the side? Is it a nutritional or vitamin deficiency? Thanks to all of you! Kristin

Stress or a sudden fright may also cause abortions. I don't know the answers to the rest as I am new to this. I hope there is another explaination rather than abortion.

It's usually just natures way of taking care of unviable kids. A pregnancy gone wrong.

Other causes are disease, injury, posioning, an incompetant cervics, scar tissue in the uterus that the placenta attached to etc. etc. I would go with the first answer unless you notice more abortions. Vicki
