I have a doeling that will be 6 months on the 14 of August. I notice yesterday that one side of her udder is larger than the other. I felt it this morning and it is like a lump, kinda hard. It is possible her mother had mastitis. Could this be? What would be the thing to do? I was planning on giving Lizignin (sp?) at 6 months.

Thanks again to all you wonderful experienced goat people.

We have a yearling doe she was loopsided all through pregancy not so bad now starting to even out, her milk came back today negative but she didnt have any lumps. Also had a 3 y.o milker develope a marble sized lump she wasnt uneven and tested negative too so just b/c you get a lump or are uneven doesnt always mean Mastitis.

    Best of Luck

I have heard that sometimes lumps are caused by hormones- the person who told me this said her goat's lumps went away after she freshened.
