Hello Everyone!

This is my first post on the forum and I am excited that I was able to find such a wonderful forum to be apart of. I am a member of a committee that is putting together a new dairy goat show in Oregon and I thought I would share the information with everyone here on the forum!

The show is going to a three-ring ADGA sanctioned buck show and one ring ADGA sanctioned junior doe show. This show is going back to the “old days” when there used to be buck and junior doe shows hosted together. The show is going to be on May 12th at the Cottage Grove fairgrounds in Lane County Oregon. Judges are still TBA. This is going to be a unique show with awesome awards and prizes!

Here is the link to our Facebook page where you can receive updates as we secure judges, make changes, and put out more information!

The Idaho Syringa Dairy Goat Association has a show every year in Boise, ID, memorial day weekend in May.  This year it is May 26-27, 2012.  It is a Sr. Doe, Jr. Doe, and Buck show.  There are 4 rings for ADGA and 3 rings for MDGA (mini goats).  More information will be available on the ISDGA website, as they update it: http://www.isdga.com/.  I am planning to attend with some mini's and possibly some ADGA goats as well.

The annual South Central Texas Memorial Classic Dairy Goat Show will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Brenham, Texas.  Rules and entry forms will be available on the club's website at www.sctexgoatclub.org later this month.  We will have three rings of Senior Does and two rings of Junior Does.  Our judges will be Jane Robinett, Jennifer Lohman-Peterson and Scott Horner.  Cash prizes will be awarded for Best Doe In Show in all rings and Best Junior Doe in Show in rings 1 and 2.  We'll also be holding youth showmanship in three age groups and we've applied for a LaMancha Specialty.  Our shows are sanctioned by ADGA for all breeds except Sable.  Nigerian Dwarfs are also AGS sanctioned.  Caroline

The CommonWealth Goat Club's January meeting will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Madison County Extension Office, Madison, Virginia.  The business meeting begins at 11:00 AM followed by a potluck lunch at noon.  Then at 1:00 PM there will be a presentation on a member's trip to France last summer and her visit to French goat dairies.  Come on out for the meeting! Smiley  If you need directions or further information please PM me, or e-mail me at geminigoats@yahoo.com

Have a great rest of the evening and hope to see those who are in the VA/NC/MD area there!

Does anyone know if they have any shows planned in GA, AL, SC, FL, or TN?  I am new to the show world so I would like to attend some shows to see how everything works before I try to enter one of our goats.  I greatly appreciate any information on shows and showing.  Thanks Tara

Well let's see -- There is Goats in Gatorland March 23-24 (search/google for Florida Dairy Goat Association, Clemson, SC is planned for May 5-6 by the SC Dairy Goat group, May 18-20 is the Dairy Goat Festival in Spindale NC ( only 30 minutes from the SC border) and also the biggest show in the region planned for the weeekend of June 9th in Shelby, NC which is also very close to SC. You can also check the ADGA site under shows which will list all of these in a couple of months once the sanction paperwork is submitted.

The Georgia Dairy Gooat Breeders Association has a spring show too but I am not sure what that date is this year - if you are in GA you should join them.
