Will the leftover composted hay from the goat barn ever break down enough that bermuda grass won't grow from it? This year all my compost piles have at least a little hay and I am afraid to use it because once that grass gets going you can never seem to get rid of it.

Michelle, I've used the composted hay to cover my potato sets for the past several years with no adverse weed growth. In fact, after harvesting the potatoes in the fall, I either burn off the remaining hay, or turn it in. We plant the potato seeds on the surface and add about 4" of mulch cover.
