Default Extra teats

Hello, I have a doe who does not have any teat abnormalities however she has produced two kids with extra teats. Her 1st freshening one kid had an extra teatÖthe kid was sold to a pet home. I was hoping it was a fluke but her 2nd freshening (bred to a different buck) one of the kids has double teats. I will be retiring this doe and pulling her papers and the kid with the double teats will go to a pet home only. I was originally planning to retain the buckling, who does not have any teat issues but now that I see his sibling has double teats and I know its genetic, Iím thinking its best to castrate him as I donít want to create any more teat issues?

Agreed. I had a doe much like this whom herself had normal teats, but then first kidding had a doe kid with 3 teats. The second kidding was triplets, one doe kid of that group had 4 teats. Bring in new buck- then I get normal teats with quads but 3 new deformities. So I put her in the freezer. I did keep the first 3 teated doe, whom I still have and she's a productive herd member but all kids but 1 I'm taking a chance on are terminal or sold as pets. I kept a full sister out of those triplets with normal teats but I'll probably eventually cull both sisters once I get solid replacements in the milking line up.
